On several occasions, we have said that there are two types of abandonment, that of a horse born without knowing what someone wants it and that of an animal that has had it all and then is suddenly left with nothing. Sometimes these are competition horses that are passed from owner to owner as they age or become injured. Jumper, as the name suggests, was a great competition horse and enjoyed the sweetness of success and the applause of humans. He was a lucky one in ten thousand. Because when he began his physical deterioration, he was sponsored at the CYD by Jaydie and her mother. Jaydie and he have already celebrated many years together and are inseparable. I only wish all families would make lifetime commitments with regard to the rescued horses.
